Members of Euzkaldunak, the main Basque organization and Basque club of Boise, Idaho gathered on Saturday, April 16th, at the Basque Center facilities in downtown Boise to take part in the monthly dinner, celebrating the 62nd anniversary of this key institution, one of the biggest and most active among the ones in the American West. Saturday’s dinner was hosted by Aiztan Artean, a traditional Basque women's group that works under the umbrella of the Center, and prepared by chef Jesus Alcelay and his crew.

Boise, Idaho, USA. Saturday’s dinner was bustling with even more guests than usual. April’s dinner is known in Boise as the  Briska Dinner, and it has also been designated as the anniversary dinner. Euzkaldunak celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2009, and the board decided to make the anniversary an annual celebration.

The doors to the Dining Room opened at 6:00 PM, and the buffet-style dinner was served at 6:30 PM. The chefs delighted the guests with a tasty menu including tossed salad, white fish Oriotarra style, baby back ribs, Basque rice, mixed vegetables, fresh bread and butter, and Brazo Gitano for desert. All of it was accompanied by wine, coffee, and spirits.

After dinner, tables were put away to clear the floor for the dance featuring Boise's Basque group 'Amuma Says No'. There was no better way to cap off the anniversary festivities. The dance began at approximately 8:30 PM and everyone, young, old and older, had a great time singing along and dancing, despite the tropical 90º weather attendees enjoyed during the event.
