Mary (Monte) Chamberlain passed peacefully on October 24 in Whitefish Montana with her family and loving friends from The Springs at age 90. 

Mary was born in Silver City ID to Manuel and Laurianna Monte the youngest of three children. The family moved to Nampa ID when she was in the 6th grade where she attended St. Paul's School, graduating from Nampa High School in 1944. In 1949, Mary wed H.J. (Bud) Chamberlain of Arco, ID . They had two daughters Teresa (Rich) Nelson of Bigfork MT and Tamie (Michael) McQuiggin of Happy Valley, OR. Mary worked for Falks ID Store in Nampa and Karcher Mall as the office manager most of her career. She was an avid golfer in later life and will be remembered as a very fun and energetic person.

Mary has four grandchildren Courtney (Doug) Babcock, Columbia Falls MT, Shane (Winona) Nelson and Chad (Isla) Nelson both of Boise and Kyle McQuiggin of Dayton OR She also has six great grandchildren, Colton 18, Cooper 14, Seth 12, Mia 9, Heath 9, Hunter 3 and many nieces and nephews. Mary was very proud of her Basque heritage and she repeatedly shared great stories and fond memories with her entire family and many friends about her life growing up in historic Silver City. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bud Chamberlain, brother Eddie (Jeanette) Monte of Oregon City OR and her sister Rufina (Marvin) Miller of Nampa ID.

Mary will be missed by family and friends. Until we see you again Mom, you will be held lovingly in our hearts, thank you for your years of loving devotion. God Bless You!

Memorials may be made to the Basque Museum and Cultural Center, 611 Grove St. Boise, Owyhee County Historical Society, Murphy, or St. Paul's Catholic Church, Nampa.

A Viewing and visitation will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2017 at the St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nampa with a recitation of the Rosary to begin at 2:30 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 3:00. Burial will follow at the Mt Calvary Cemetery in Nampa. Arrangements are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
