17/07/2017 - Meridian, Idaho. EEUU

Marie Gaillour Galindre, 98, Eagle, Idaho, passed on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at St. Lukes Hospital, Meridian, Idaho, surrounded by loving family and friends.

Marie Gaillour was born July 1, 1919, in Vaughn to Luisa and John Gaillour, the first born of eight children.

Marie helped raise her seven siblings due to her mother's ongoing illness, and early death.

On Nov. 21, 1941, Marie married Frank Galindre in Las Vegas. She and Frank had three children, Frank Jr., Yvonne and Denise
In the early '50s, Frank was recalled to the U.S. Navy, so the family moved to Oakland. Marie's father John and her sister, Anne came to California and lived with Marie and Frank after her dad lost all his sheep as a sheepherder during the Depression. Marie's only son, Frank Jr. was killed after a sports injury at the age of 16 years.

On Feb. 22, 1973, Frank Galindre passed away. Marie retired at age 62 and moved to Eagle, Idaho, to spend the rest of her life with her youngest sister, Annie Rogers, her husband, Mike, and their children, Sue, Jacklyn, Shari and Michael. Several years later, Marie's daughter, Denise and her son, Joseph, moved to Idaho to be closer to Marie and the family.

Since losing her mother at eight years old, Anne and Marie formed a "very special" bond that spanned 78-years. Annie thought of Marie more as a loving mother than sister, and Marie felt the same.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Luisa Gaillour; husband, Frank Galindre, and only son, Frank Galindre Jr., as well as her siblings, Reynold, Michael, John, Emily, Lucy and Margaret.

Marie is survived by her loving daughters, Yvonne Forbes (Sid), Knoxville, Tenn., Denise Ceremello, Boise, and their children, Justin Forbes (Meghan), Wesley Forbes, and Joseph Ceremello.

Marie is also survived by her loving sister, Anne Galliour Rogers and her loving friend, Gladys Ashley, whom she lived with and lovingly referred to as her "Sargents" for more than 15 years.

Marie is also survived by her only living cousin, Margaret Lewis, 93, Branson, Colo. and a "huge" loving Basque Family consisting of more than 200 nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family would like to thank all of Marie's caregivers at Life Care Center of Boise, especially Joel Davick, her "special guy" who took such good and loving care of Marie during her stay at Life Care Center.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Bella Vida Funeral Home, Boise, Idaho.

All Family and Friends are invited to "A Celebration of This "Most Special Life" of Marie Gaillour Galindre at Holy Apostle Catholic Church, Meridian, ID at a later date and time to be determined.
