Felisa Caballero Etcheverry (fondly nicknamed Amachi, which means Grandma in Basque) born in Chino California on July 19, 1920 (age 96) passed away at South Hill Hospice of Spokane in Spokane Valley Washington on December 6, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin John Etcheverry, her mother Cristina Errotaberrea Caballero, her father Sabino Caballero, her Sister Bernice Arellano, her brothers Frank and Victor Caballero, and her sister Gabriella Caballero who died in infancy.

Felisa was born at home in Carbon Canyon and attended South Pines Elementary from grades 1 through 8. She was raised on a farm milking cows and tending to the duties of farm life. She graduated from Chino High School in 1939. During WWII she worked as a gas station attendant and at Douglas Aircraft riveting parts for Aircraft.

On December 15, 1951 she was married to Benjamin John Etcheverry. They were married for 29 years when he passed away on February 24, 1980.

She is survived by two children: son - Gary Etcheverry and daughter - Yvonne Etcheverry Byers [Brent]. Her niece whom she raised Isabel Arellano Santos, Her six grand- children: Stephen and [Lauren] Byers, Craig and [Jasmine] Byers, Alyse and [Johnny] Dibble, Brandon and [Alexis] Byers, Benjamin Byers and Jenesis Grover Etcheverry. Her Four Great Grandchildren: Cole, Logan and Crew Byers and Melanie Dibble.

From 1951 to 1980 Felisa resided in South Gate California. Since then she has relocated several times in Southern California and has spent the last 13 years with her daughter and family in Spokane Valley Washington. During her time in Spokane she contributed greatly to Project Warm-Up making over 1500 knitted hats and over 800 quilts.

Felisa is the last survivor in her Family's generation and will be greatly missed by all. It is with Loving thoughts and Happy Memories that we say 'till we meet again.'

Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 15, 2016, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, on Belle Terre Ave, Spokane WA.
