Tens of thousands of people supported the “Erabakia Ehuntzen” initiative of Gure Esku Dago in favor of the right to decide the future of Euskal Herria.  In a day of festivities and protests with activities in Baiona, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Anoeta (Donostia), San Mames (Bilbao) and the Zezen-Plaza in Iruña-Pamplona, the Diaspora was also present with hundreds of small scraps of fabric sent with wishes written for the future of Euskal Herria.

Donostia-San Sebastian.   The Gure Esku Dago initiative once again achieved gathering numerous people in support of the right to decide at its main day of its “Erabakia Ehuntzen” (Weaving Wills) event.  Without the massive response to previous events like the human chain that gathered more than 150,000 people, this time there were several tens of thousands who supported the day in Baiona, Gasteiz, Donostia, Bilbao and Iruña.  To these a large number of Basques in the Diaspora need to be added including those in Argentina, Uruguay, USA, Germany, and England who also lent their support.

In Donostia, the physical sign of this support, a huge cloth made of hundreds of scarps that have been sewn together over the last few weeks, little by little, event by event, at Basque clubs in Argentina, and Uruguay for example.  Each one of these pieces of cloth had wishes written on them from a large number of Basques living in the Diaspora looking at the future of Euskal Herria.  Yesterday at Anoeta, there were thousands of scraps that were joined in the Basque Country to create a giant ballot box, claiming the right to decide.
