In Euskal Herria, the International Day of Euskera was celebrated on December 3rd; also everywhere else where there are Euskaldunak, but not always just on december 3rd.  In South America, some Basque clubs began the festivities began at the end of November and some other places will extend the celebration until the 17th together with a toast to the year’s end.  The sounds of Euskera can be heard in Rio de la Plata and in the Andes, thanks to those who study and teach Basque there.

Buenos Aires, Argentina.   The Basque Diaspora is working hard to maintain the culure and the language of Euskal Herria around the world.  The possibilities to learn Basque outside of Euskal Herria increase every year, and along with that the number of Euskera Day celebrations.  The way it is celebrated is varied: games, songs, contests, videos…and at all of them, students in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay use this day to give greater visibility to their commitment to the language.  Following, a photo album of some of the festivities.
