Two girls from Iparralde will teach Euskera and dance at the Gure Etxea Basque Club in General Belgrano

General Belgrano, Argentina. Joana Ourthiague, from Lower Navarre and Edurne Altune, from Lapurdi, are currently in Gral. Belgrano in the province of Buenos Aires where they will spend a year to work, and deepen their knowledge of agriculture all while collaborating with the local Basque club.  In regards to the latter, the Basque club reported that the two will teach Euskera and dance classes, available to adults and children alike.

Dance for txikis will be offered on Wednesdays from 6-7pm, and for adults from 7-8pm.  Basque classes will follow from 8-10pm, and there will also be a French class on Thursdays from 8-10pm.  Gure Etxea has also organized a Basque food class offered on Saturday afternoons.  All classes are free.

Sources from Gure Etxea explained to EuskalKultura.com that both girls first made a month-long exchange as part of the agreement between the School of Public Rural Management, CEPT La Colonia in Gral. Belgrano, and the Jean Errecart Institute in Donapaleu (Behe-Nafarroa).  Due to the close ties with the community, they have decided to return to experience a longer stay.
