Tomorrow, January 30th, the Advisory Board of Relations with Basque Communities Abroad will meet at Lehendakaritza in Vitoria-Gasteiz.  The Lehendakari’s advisory board has to meet at least one a year by law and is comprised of the Lehendakari, directors in Foreign Action and various government departments, representatives at various levels of the administration, and various institutions including three Basque club representatives. 

Vitoria-Gasteiz.  The meeting of the Advisory Board of Relations with Basque Communities Abroad will take place at 4pm at the Lehendakaritza on Tuesday January 30th.  The meeting will be led by Lehendakari Urkullu and includes the following on its agenda:

1) Renewing the board’s members
2) Reading and approval of the minutes of the previous meeting
3) Report of the activities of the Directorate for the Basque Community Abroad in 2017, and progress on its 2018 projects
4) Update on the Basque country Strategy 2018-2020
5) Proposed dates for the celebration of Diaspora Day
6) Requests and questions

The Lehendakari will lead the meeting, that is comprised also by the Secretary General of Foreign Action serving as vice-president, and the Director of the Basque Community Abroad, as its secretary.  Among the directors there are representatives of various governmental departments, parliamentary groups from Eusko Legebiltzarra, the three provincial governments, and entities like EUDEL or Euskaltzaindia, as well as three Basque club representatives elected at the last World Congress of Basque Collectivities.

Arantxa Anitua (Argentina), Lorea Palacios (Mexico) and Unai Lauzirika (Germany) are the three Basque club representatives who will attend tomorrow’s event.
