The summer university session “Bolivar 2012” will take place next week in Ziortza-Bolibar

“Udako Unibertsitate Bolibartarra”, the Summer Studies Session of Bolivar will begin next Monday in the Basque town of Ziortza-Bolibar, Bizkaia with an inauguration that local mayor, Joxe S. Azpiazu, along with a representative of the Provincial Government of Bizkaia, and Jose Maria Unzueta Unsain, president of the Bolivarian Studies Association will also attend. The course will take place between July 16 and 20 in sessions in Euskera or Spanish. Topics of interest will include ALBA, CELAC, teaching today, the former Aquitaine, free software, Nabarra and other topics concerning the economy, even math. The sessions will be moderated by the journalist Itxaso Paia and the Organization announced the intervention on Friday of University of the Basque Country Professor, Esteban Antxustegi, and historian Tomas Urzainqui at the closing session, as well as a ceremonial closure carried out by Patxuko Abrisketa, President of the Bogota Basque Center and provincial government representatives, as well as the mayor of Bolibar.

 

Ziortza-Bolibar, Bizkaia.  The Summer Session of Bolivar will take place next week in Ziortza-Bolibar organized by the Association of Bolivarian Studies with the collaboration of the town hall of Ziortza-Bolibar, the Provincial Government of Bizkaia and the LN (Pro-Liberate Navarra) association according to event organizers.

Sessions will take place in Euskera or Spanish and will be moderated by journalist, actress and bertsolari Itxaso  Paia.  The program will take place according to the following schedule:

Monday July 16
“ALBA & CELAC”

- 15:30 opening session: Joxe S. Azpiazu, mayor of Ziortza-Bolibar, a representative of the Provincial Government of Bizkaia, and Jose Maria Unzueta, president of the Association of Bolivarian Studies.
-16:00-17:50: Yolanda Rojas Urbina, Consul of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Bilbao, will speak on "What is ALBA."
-18:00-19:50: Mauricio Rodriguez, minister counselor at the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Madrid, will speak on "What is CELAC" (both presentations will be conducted in Spanish)

Tuesday July 17
“Teaching today”/ “Former Aquitaine – Novempopulania”

-16:00-17:50: Professor Mirari Bereziartua will talk about “Teaching Today.”
-18:00-19:50: Historian and Professor Halip Laritga will talk about “the Former Aquitaine Novempopulanaia and Vasconia in the Middle Ages, the cradle of today’s Basque speakers.  Historical toponymic and linguistic traces (both lectures will be conducted in Euskera).

Wednesday July 18
“The creation of online stores through free software” / “The Conquest of Maritime Navarre”
-16:00-17:50: Professor Jakobe Palazio, will treat “The creation of online stores with free software” (in Basque)
-18:00-19:50: Writer and Historian Pello Guerra, “The Conquest of Nabarra Maritime” (in Spanish)

Thursday July 19
“Math and nature” / “The Future Economy”

-16:00-17:50: Mathematician, Xabier Kebedo “Math and Nature” (in Spanish)
-18:00-19:50: Economist Nekane Jurado, “The Future Economy” (in Spanish)

Friday July 20
“Madrid Conference and Nerac” / “Conference of Atarrabia”

-12:00-13:00: Final act with Mayor Joxe S. Azpiazu; renowned historian on Simon Bolivar, Patxuko Abrisketa, president of the Basque Center of Bogota; as well as a representative from the Provincial Government of Bizkaia
-16:00-17:50: Esteban Antxustegi Igartua, political scientist, historian and Professor at the Univ. of the Basque Country, will speak on the "The Congress of Madrid and Nerac" (in Basque)
-18:00-19:50: Lawyer, judge and historian Tomas Urzainqui Mina will talk on “The Congress of Atarrabia” (in Spanish)

The organization also reported that tuition for these five days is 5 euros, while the students are free. During the formal closing ceremony diplomas will be given to all those who have registered.
