The exhibition on the philosopher from Bilbao by Olga Aristegui de Baliña took place at the Domingo F. Sarmiento Municipal Library of San Miguel.  The group that celebrates its fifth anniversary this year anticipates its next talk, dedicated to the Sanctuary of Arantzazu, to take place on November 22nd in the same place.

San Miguel, Argentina.   This year marks the 5th anniversary of the Basque-Argentine group, Askatasunaren Bidea who is currently providing a series of talks on various themes linked to the Basque Country.  As part of the event, Olga Aristegui de Baliña gave a talk on Miguel de Unamuno and his presence in Argentina from 1900 to 1936.

Olga Aristegui, who was part of the association’s Euskera workshop, has studied the thoughts of the writer and philosopher who was born in Bilbao to give this talk, in her own words, “from admiration.”  Aristegui presented members of Askatasunaren Bidea a copy of Alma Vasca (The Basque Soul) published by Unamuno in 1904 in the magazine Alma Española.  The event took place in the Domingo F. Sarmiento Municipal Library in San Miguel in front of a large audience.

The group has announced a new talk for next month, this time entitled, “The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Arantzazu,” with the participation of Ana Maria Palavecino.  This will take place on November 22 at 18:30, also at the Sarmiento Library, located at Sarmiento 1503, in San Miguel.

Askatasunaren Bidea’s board also let us know that they will close the year with a meeting and invite everyone to visit their blog, “where information is constantly updated by collaborators in Argentina and the Basque Country,” they told EuskalKultura.com.
