The community response was very positive: a huge audience gathered in the pedestrian area of San Nicolas to enjoy the Basque music and dancing.  Also joining the local Basque club were the Guillermo Larregui Basque club in Chacabuco and the Euskaldunak Denak Bat Basque club in Arrecifes.

Pergamino, Argentina.   In 2016 the Basque community in Pergamino has celebrated San Fermin as never before: with festivities in the middle of the city, that included the traditional txupinazo, music and dancing.  The festivities began around 4:30pm in the pedestrian area of San Nicolas, and after painting the sky in the colors of the Ikurriña, an Aurresku was performed for those present.

Afterwards, the drummers from the local Lagun Onak played the Tamborrada from Donostia and finally the dantzaris performed their most traditional dances.  The performance included dancers from the Guillermo Larregui club in Chacabuco, who were especially invited for the occasion.

The program continued with mass at Our Lady of Mercy Parish and concluded with dinner and a dance at the clubhouse.  Representatives from Euskaldunak Denak Bat in Arrecifes also traveled to Pergamino for the event.  Following is a photo gallery of the event:
