The Basque Cultural Institute of Iparralde (Euskal Kultur Erakundea/EKE) has published an archive of musical scores by composer and harmonizer Joseph Maris, on its website, including more than 300 pieces. Most belong to the traditional and contemporary Basque Music Fund. Scores can be downloaded in PDF, Midi, or Sibelius format and are available for anyone who wants to use them.

Ustaritz, Lapurdi.  The Basque Cultural Institute of Iparralde (EKE) has published the archive of composer Jo Maris on its website www.eke.org.  It includes more than 300 songs and the majority of them are in Basque but also includes some in Spanish harmonized by Jo Maris, that are now at the disposition of singing fans around the world.

The scores can be downloaded from the Jo Maris Fund, in PDF, MID, and Sibelius formats.  The list of songs is long and in some cases includes various versions of the same piece, as in the case of “Agur Jaunak” (for four voices, Lesbordes…) or “Aita Gurea” (Madina, Madina for four voices…).

Conditions of Use

EKE and Joseph Maris himself have placed this archive at the disposition of the public and the composer added that it will soon include new pieces.  The author has authorized the free diffusion and reproduction of this work.  Nevertheless, any correction or modification of said work is not permitted without the consent of the author.  To contact Mr. Maris, write to him here.

If one of his works is performed in public by a choir for example, it should be comunicated to the SACEM.
