The Basque Government recognized a new Basque club in France yesterday, the “Association des Basques de Montpellier et sa región-Euskaldunak,” according to official sources.  The Basque club is the fifth to be officially registered in France and number 190 in the world.

Vitoria-Gasteiz.   The Basque Government approved the recognition of a new Basque club yesterday, Tuesday, at its Governing Council. The club’s name is the “Association des Basques de Montpellier et sa region-Euskaldunak”.  It isn’t a strictly new club, since it was founded in 2003, but until now it hadn’t streamlined the documentation process in order to be recognized officially, and to be included in the world Basque club registry.

With this recognition, the number of Basque clubs officially registered in France now totals 5, along with others in Paris, Bordeaux, Pau, and Marseille, which was just recognized as well, in December 2015.
