The Denak Bat Basque club in Cañuelas hosted more than hundred youth this weekend at the 9th Aberri Eguna Dantzari Get-Together

The city of Cañuelas was once again the site of the regional Dantzari get-together that the local Basque club organized on the Day of the Basque Homeland.  The event took place last weekend and unlike other years, the program also included a cultural talk by Mikel Ezkerro.  The farewell lunch also included an activity to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Argentinan Euskaraz, a program to train Argentinean born Basque language teachers.. 

Cañuelas, Argentina.   The Denak Bat Basque club has organized the Dantzari Get-Together for years; an experience that allows them to organize a celebration like that of last weekend’s where everyone leaves happy and all goes as planned.

They hosted representatives from more than 10 Basque clubs: Eusko Aterpea from Gral. Rodriguez, Zazpirak Bat from Rosario, Anaitasuna from Maipu, Euskal Sustraiak from Trenque Lauquen, Toki Eder from Jose C. Paz, Guillermo Larregui from Chacabuco, Laurak Bat from Buenos Aires, Euzko Etxea from La Plata, Itxaropen from Saladillo, Zazpirak Bat from Gral. Las Heras, Euskaltzaleak from Buenos Aires, and Denak Bat from Lomas de Zamora.

The celebration began with a kalejira that included a danborrada and erraldoiak, musicians and dantzaris.  Begiore that, the events began at noon with a talk by Mikel Ezkerro aimed especially to the youth of the club.

Under the direction of Iñaki Aramayo, the dance exhibition took place at the Plaza San Martin, where a large audience gathered as well.

Sara Pagola, delegate of Euskadi in Argentina was also in Attendance, along with FEVA’s vice-president, Arantxa Anitua.  

Following the program, activities continued with a public dance at the Basque club.  As every year, the celebration concluded on Sunday at noon with a farewell lunch.

Before saying good-bye, everyone present participated in an event for the 25th anniversary of Argentinan Euskaraz.
