With summer vacation (in the southern hemisphere) behind us, Basque clubs in the area are now finalizing and announcing their annual programs of activity.  The hopes of accompanying,  facilitating or simply complementing club offerings, the Delegation of Euskadi in Argentina-Mercosur offers interested institutions wide array of cultural proposals.  Following is a list of material available for 2018. All you have to do is choose, contact the delegation and request it.

Buenos Aires, Argentina.  In hopes of supporting the diffusion of the Basque culture through Basque clubs and other entities, the Delegation of the Basque Government in Argentina-Mercosur has made available a variety of cultural offerings to clubs and associations including exhibits and a catalogue of audiovisual material, among other items.

Exhibits that are now available include “The Bombing of Gernika, “In the Footsteps of Euskera. The Basque Language and its Presence in Argenitna,” “Basque Baserris,” and “Transforming Images,” which includes awareness campaigns promoted by Emakunde (The Basque Women’s Institute,) since 1989.

The first two have banners, so it's easier to move them and all the clubs have to do is request them.  The Delegation also advises that interested clubs in the same area could organize a tour of these exhibits in order to share costs.  “Basque Baserris,” and “Transforming Images,” on the other hand are only available digitally so interested entities would have to have them printed and formatted to accommodate each exhibit.

Catalogue of audiovisual materials and digital books

The catalog created by the Delegation, with the collaboration of ETB and Canal Vasco, is divided into two categories: Films and Documentaries. More than 120 titles that range from politics, art, history, sports, cities, Euskera, cooking, festivals, traditions, religion, geography, fashions, music and emigration.

To request materials from the Delegation, clubs should email:
n-oreja@euskadi.eus or marianasatostegui@euskadi.eus.

The Delegation also reminds club members that they can also utilize the Digital Basque Library “eLiburutegia.” To use this service, interested persons should request access here: http://www.eliburutegia.euskadi.eus. The Digital Basque Library, eLiburutegia, has a wide catalogue of ebooks in Basque, Spanish, Franch, English and other languages and is continuously maintained, growing and updated.  Items can be enjoyed through streaming, or downloaded from any type of browser, operating system, or digital reading device.
