Chivilcoy, Argentina. The local Basque club closed the year with two events. On December 5th it held a dance performance with the txikis, intermediates and adults. “It was a great showing by the dantzaris whose show ended with a visit by the Olentzero who passed candy out to the kids,” club sources said. The directors of the dance group, Nelba, Graciela, and Emilse, also presented a present to each dancer for their work throughout the year that included other performances including one at Semana Vasca in Mar del Plata. After the show, everyone present shared a meal.
The end of year party was on December 8th with an event that gathered 200 guests. Jose Maria Letamendi, member of the board of directors, provided a summary of the year’s activities and Nelba Calonge presented an award to dantzari Micaela for her commitment to the club.
After the meal, guests sang and made toasts, there was also dancing to the sounds of Jorge Zunino.
