The Basque Government opens the call for 13 new scholarships in Argentina, Brussels, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Vitoria, and the US

Besides the four scholarships that we told you about last Friday: Vitoria-Gasteiz (2), Argentina (1) and the US (1), the Basque Government has now opened the call for applications for another 13 “scholarships for the specialization of professionals in the area of Foreign Action” intended for Vitoria-Gasteiz (4), Brussels (4), the US (1), Mexico (1), Chile (1), Colombia (1), and Argentina (1). In this instance the scholarships are for 12 months, open to citizens of the Basque Autonomous Community, as well as members of Basque clubs. The amounts vary between 16,000 and 24,000 euros. The deadline for applications is January 16, 2012.

Vitoria-Gasteiz.  Besides the scholarships for specialization in the area of Citizens and Basque Collectivities Abroad that we told you about last Friday, the Secretary General of Foreign Action of the Basque Government has opened the call for another 13 scholarships for the specialization needed to carry out its activities at the office of the Secretary General as well as at the Delegations of Euskadi abroad, distributed as follows: 

-4 within the General Secretary of Foreign Action in Vitoria-Gasteiz
-4 in the Basque Delegation for the European Union in Brussels
-1 in the Delegation in the US, Canada and Mexico, in the office in New York
-1 in the Delegation in the US, Canada and Mexico, in the office in Mexico
-1 in the Delegation of Euskadi in Chile and Peru, in Santiago Chile
-1 in Delegation in Colombia, Venezuela, Central America, in Bogota
-1 in Delegation of Euskadi in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, in Buenos Aires 

Scholarships are for a 12 month period and total 16,000 euros for those in Vitoria-Gasteiz; and 24,000 euros for all others abroad, all are subject to the corresponding withholding tax.   

The deadline to apply is January 16, 2012. 

People that meet the following requirements, among others, may apply: 

-Be a resident of the Basque Autonomous Community prior to the date of the call for applications, or be a member of an officially recognized Basque club/entity.
-Hold a university degree
-Be at least 30 years old at the beginning of January of the year that the scholarship begins
-Not be a previous recipient of an equal or similar scholarship from the Basque Government
