Sao Paulo’s Eusko Brasildar Etxea gets a new clubhouse, with much desire and many activities

The Eusko Brasildar Etxea inaugurated its new clubhouse on May 5 with a big party attended by both members and friends of the institution like students of it various language and music courses. The event was celebrated with a meal, featuring Paella decorated with Ikurriñas and Lauburus, as well as a performance by a group of Gypsy dancers, whose members study language at the Euskal etxea. The clubhouse is functioning at full capacity with classes in Basque and Mus as well as other cultural and social activities.

Sao Paulo, Brazil.  The Eusko Brasildar Etxea's (EBE) new clubhouse in Sao Paulo, inaugurated at the beginning of the month, is full of life. The center already offers language classes (Basque, English, French and Spanish), as well as music classes.  On Saturday the 19 it hosted a lunch and started beginning Mus classes, thanks to Jesus Collado.  A few days before several members got together to record a passage in Basque for work that will be presented at the Arriaga Theater in Bilbao as part of the Klasikoen Irakurraldia (Classics Reading) event. 

Oskar Goitia, club president, told EuskalKultura.com how satisfied the members are with the steps that the Center is taking, emphasizing the great atmosphere at the inaugural festivities.  It debuted on May 5 attended by members, students, and friends.

Goitia himself was the chef in charge of the Paella decorated with Lauburus, Ikurriñas and the initials EBE.  “We sang, danced and had a really great time,” he said.  The festivities included a special performance by a group of Gypsy dancers who are also language students at the Euskal Etxea.

The clubhouse is located at Rua Josefina Arnoni, 275 (Tremembé, São Paulo-SPA, CEP 02374-050).  The group is currently working ont its second Basque Week that will take place in September.

    Prof. Ezkerro le agradezco sus palabras pero no he participado de la organizacion de este evento en particular, me recuperaba de la cirurgia. A mi me encantaria ver los dantzaris de la jota vasca en esta fiesta o otro tipo de dantza, pero VASCA. De cualquier manera, zorionak. El centro vasco está ubicado en casa de Oskar, ya es una gran iniciativa!
