Art exhibits, lectures, Basque film screenings, activities with schools, celebration of the 15th anniversary of Etxe Nasaia, presentations by singers Mikel Urdangarin, Xabaltx and Michel Etcheverry, mintzodromoa, tamborradas, kalejiras, and the usual fanfare of dancers, meetings of FEVA, libraries, Basque choirs, tabernas, dances and a huge dose of excitement, work and volunteer commitment are some of the ingredients that make this year’s Semana Nacional Vasca Argentina 2017 event program in San Nicolas.

San Nicolas, Argentina. There is less than two months left before Semana Nacional Vasca 2107 takes place in San Nicolas. The local Euzkal Etxea Basque Club is hosting the event for the first time, and they are currently immersed making sure that every last detail is taken care of. The program of activities includes very diverse proposals and in the spirit and the club’s line of work, they are not only thinking about the Basque community, but also about the general Argentine community.

A huge variety of proposals make up the program for Semana Vasca 2017 in San Nicolas, “the goal is to take into account the rich culture of Euskal Herria.” The presence of painter Miguel Echevarria and musicians Mikel Urdangarin, Xabaltx and Michel Etcheverry have also been confirmed.  The Basque Government will also be present represented by Secretary General of Foreign Action, Marian Elorza and the Director of Basque Communities Abroad, Gorka Alvarez Aranburu.

The organizers provided EuskalKultura.com an updated program of activities.  The guest list from the Basque Country is still open.  Club president, Damian Cebey, told us that they have also extended invitations to representatives in Nafarroa and Iparralde as well as to representatives of different political groups and they are waiting for answers.
