Request for collaboration to the Basque community

Currently, 213 people have been identified as being of Basque origin in the state of Nevada among the participants in World War II.  Being an open project, the cooperation of the US Basque community is also vital to identify veterans of WWII, as well as contribute materials that would help illustrate the biographies that have already been gathered.  In order to help, please email: sanchobeurko@gmail.com.

Oiarzabal, director of the Memoria Bizia, project, also presented “Ondare Bizia: The Return of Basque Migrants and Exiles Stories to the Homeland” (see www.ondarebizia.deusto.es) at the Annual Conference of the Oral History Association in the US, that took place in Long Beach, CA, October 12-16.
