La Plata, Argentina. The South American regional Mus Tournament took place on March 27-30 at Euzko Etxea in La Plata with the participation of 16 teams from Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay. The first place trophy went to the local team of Rolando Biasco and Jose Luis Macchi. Second place went to the team representing Laurak Bat, Felipe Finger father and Felipe Finger son, with third place going to other locals, Pedro Berrueta and Juan Jose Umaran. The sites of the next two tournaments were also confirmed with 2020 being in Chile and 2021 in Uruguay.
Parallel to MercoMus, Eusko Etxea also organized a Canasta Tournament that included players from La Plata, Rosario, Buenos Aires, Santiago and Montevideo. Winners of this tournament were also locals, Carmen Jaramillo and Stella Galle, with Bety Aramayo and Pipa Garriga coming in second, also from La Plata.
MercoMus 2019 closed with dinner including entertainment from the club’s dantzaris. Trophies were presented during dinner. See photos, here.
