The Mexican team won its last medal on Sunday, with a victory in the men’s frontennis category. With six golds, and a total of eleven medals, the home players took first place in the general classification, followed by Spain, with four gold medals and a total of thirteen. France took third place, with two gold medals and a total of eleven.

Zinacantepec, Mexico. The 27th Basque Pelota World Cup finished last Sunday crowing Mexico, the hosts, as the winners of the championship. The Mexicans took strength in the field advantage and profited from the support of local fans at the frontons, just like they did back at the 2006 Cup that also took place in Mexico.

Spanish and French teams also performed well, taking second and third respectively. Argentina classified fourth, followed by Cuba that came in fifth.

The next edition will take place in Barcelona, in 2018.
