Inauguration in London of the exhibit “The Basque Children: The Story of Refugee Children,” until July 16

London, England. “The Basque Children: Story of the Children Refugees from the Spanish Civil War” is the name of the exhibit and program that is taking place at the Islington Museum in London (245 St John Street, London EC1V 4NB) June 15-July 16.  Admission is free and the initiative includes the story of 4,000 Basque children who came to the UK fleeing the war.  Talks, testimonies of the children and other events complete the program. 

Here are the dates:

-June 26, Wednesday: First person testimony by Herminio Martinez, child of the war
-June 27, Thursday: “Dirty Game,” in search of a new home in the UK”
-July 1, Monday:  Screening of the film The Guernica Children
-July 16, Tuesday: Storyteller Dani will tell the story of the children

All events will take place at the Islington Museum except for July 16th that will take place at the Marx Memorial Library (37A Clerkenwell Green, London EC1R ODU).

The Islington Museum, is participating in the program along with the Association for the Basque Children of the UK) and the Marx Memorial Library.
