Basque Government delegate in Argentina-Mercosur, Sara Pagola, met with representatives of the Mendiko Euzko Etxea in Bariloche and the recently created Euskal Txokoa Basque Club in San Martin de los Andes.  In both cities, she participated in programs organized by the clubs that explained their situation and the activities that they carry out.

Bariloche, Argentina.   Accompanied by the chairperson for Institutional Relations at the Delegation of Euskadi in Argentina, Mariana Satostegui, delegate, Sara Pagola, visited the city of Bariloche and participated in two activities.  On the one hand, on Thursday, March 14 she gave a talk on the Basque Government’s foreign policy to the board of directors of the Mendiko Euzko Etxea.  The talk took place at the clubhouse where many improvements have been done over the last few years.

On Saturday, Pagola was able to enjoy a recreational activity, the club’s first taberna of the year.  As club president, Hector Graña, told EuskalKultur.com, “It was important for us to have the government’s delegate here.  She gave us a talk and also had dinner with us, which was very successful.  She, and I, as club president, both addressed those gathered, thanking everyone for dinner, and our vice-president, Stella Larraburu presented her a gift on behalf of the club.”  After dinner the party continued till dawn.

As part of the same trip, Pagola also travelled 260 kilometers between Bariloche and San Martin de los Andes to meet representatives of the local Euskal Txokoa Basque Club.  During her stay, she gave a talk at the city hall and had dinner with members of the newly-formed club.  In the words of Manuel Bustingorry, club president, “This visit was a breath of fresh air and left us with more drive, renewing our energies and opening our doors to new projects that we will embrace with great joy and enthusiasm,” he told EuskalKultura.com.
