Donostia-San Sebastian.  The Euskomedia foundation has created an application for Smartphones called KulturMapp, free of charge via the internet, for those who want to get to know the deeper recesses of the Basque Country virtually, or who want or need additional information during a visit there.  It provides a typical map, enriched with the possibilities that new technologies provide: with one click, the user can access historical, cultural, or tourist information from a particular place, quickly and easily. 

Currently the app. includes more than 175 points of interest in Euskal Herria and 400 images.  With KulturMapp users can access:

-Information on monuments, buildings, places and historical events and important people from the area.

-See the historical evolution of the place, thanks to old photos.

-Search by text or voice.

-Audio guides.

KulturMapp is available in Basque and Spanish but will soon be expanded to include English and French versions. It is a very practical guide for those visiting the Basque Country, since the app. includes a geolocator that provides easy access to information about the site shown on the map. 

To download the app. search KulturMapp on your cell and download it from that site.
