Hernani, Gipuzkoa. Eh!trip “Isn’t a normal travel agency,” but a family business, “that grew out of the needs, concerns, questions and wishes of travelers from the Basque Diaspora who were planning their first trip to Euskal Herria.” However, “Our offer is tailored to small groups that allows adapting the route to the likes and wishes of the travelers.  There are daytrips, walks that include various dynamics that combine experiences every day, keeping in mind festivities, the weather and free days.”

This is how Patxi Ibarguren, Basque-Argentinean born in Necochea expresses it, since she has been living in Hernani for years. She coordinates the local guides at Eh!trip, and explains that “Basques that come to Euskal Herria don’t just feel like tourists, because in reality they aren’t.  We, Diaspora people love this country before knowing it; we have heard thousands of stories from the mouths of our grandparents; we have learned the folklore and its language, we have nursed the Euskaldun feeling a thousand kilometers away.” “This is why Eh!trip prepares us to be able to provide the traveler with a special trip, his/her trip,” she says.

Eh!trip works especially with personalized itineraries for those who want to get to know the corners of the Basque Country, “although we also have worked for instance with group travel from Argentina, together with a travel agency with a lot of experience.” “We take special care of members of Basque clubs that come to Euskal Herria looking for their origins.”
