Coronel Pringles Press highlights the local Basque club choir who excelled in Necochea at “Coraliada 2016”

The Pringles Order indicates that a large audience attended the closing concert of the 20th International Choir Meeting “Coraliada,” at the parish of Saint Maria del Carmen in Necochea.  Among the choirs participating was the Eusko Alaia choir from Coronel Pringles Basque club, that “received much applause and who also received a loud encore.” 

Coronel Pringles, Argentina.   According to the local newspaper, this year's edition of the choir gathering, organized by the Civil Alta Mira Association, was held on the first weekend of the month, from September 29-October 2.  Fourteen Argentine choirs and one from abroad performed on the nights of Thursday the 29th and Friday the 30th at the Municipal Theater Luis Sandrini, in Catena Sonidos en la Ribera and at the Theater Sociedad Española, beginning at 8pm.

The 15 choirs participating in this the 20th edition of the event, came from different provinces and regions of the country, including the choir from Uruguay, Coro Contracanto from Rosario, in the department of Colonia.  The Eusko Alaia Choir from the Eusko Biltzar Basque Club in Coronel Pringles was directed by Ana María Sassoni de Brouques.

On Saturday, the 1st, there was the traditional “Batucada callejera,” through the center of town and at 8pm the closing concert was held at the Parish of Santa Maria del Carmen, where all the choirs sang together, comprising a choir of more than 300 singers.

“The choir from our local Basque club, did an excellent performance at the Municipal Theater Luis Sandrini, where the singers, directed by Prof. Ana María Sassoni de Brouques, sang five songs that received great applause by the audience, as well as a loud ‘encore!’” the newspaper said.
