“Buenos Aires Celebrates the Basque Country” 2015 program for the big celebration on May 10th

A little less than a month is left for another edition, the fourth, of this popular festival where Buenos Aires pays tribute to the local Basque community.  And even if some are yet to be confirmed, the Laurak Bat Basque club has advanced its program to EuskalKultura.com. It includes recitals by Maral, the lagun Onak and Ixilik choirs, a Tamborrada, a master’s class on Basque gastronomy by Itziar Aguirre and Takehiro Ohno, as well as numerous booths, exhibitions and shows. 

Buenos Aires, Argentina.   With support of the city government of Buenos Aires, the festival known as “Buenos Aires Celebrates” aims to pay tribute to the cultural communities that live int he capital as well as provide them a space to introduce their cultural expressions.

In the case of the Basque community, not only institutions in Buenos Aires will take part in the celebration, but also a number of Basque clubs from across the country will converge on downtown to participate in the exhibition this year, it’s fourth edition.  The event will begin at noon on May 10th on Avenida de Mayo in front of the Town Hall.

The Laurak Bat Basque club is in charge of organizing the festival, and they sent us the following information on this year’s planned activities and participants.  This is a provisional program and if you still need to confirm your participation please do so via email: secretaria@laurakbat.com.ar:
