Buenos Aires, Argentina. Basque clubs in different places around the world marked March 8th, International Women’s Day.  In Argentina and Uruguay, the majority of the celebrating clubs held their events on that day.  There were recognitions of women in the communities as well as talks, demonstrations and dinners.  There were also centers, for one reason or another, who decided to push their activities back, celebrating the week after.

We gathered some photos of events that took place specifically in Arrecifes, Azul, Chacabuco, La Plata, Concordia, General Rodríguez and Villa María, in Argentina; as well as San José, in Uruguay.

We are also announcing three events that will take place next week:

At the Toki Eder Basque Club in Jose C. Paz, they will celebrate on March 21st beginning at 5:30pm with a workshop “Women and Equality,” by Paula Basaldua.

At the Haize Hegoa Basque Club in Montevideo, the event will be held on March 22nd at 7:30pm when club president, Maite Bengoa will give a talk.

Finally, at Eusko Alkartasuna in Sao Paulo, the film My Life on Mars, will be shown that deals with various female topics.  There will also be a discussion after the film.
