Basque writers, Mariasun Landa and Juan Kruz Igerabide will be at the Book Fair in Miami this week, on a trip that is supported by the Etxepare Basque Institute.  The fair started yesterday, but Landa and Igerabide won’t be there until the end of the week.  Both are participating in a panel “From Crocodiles under the Bed and Ink Roads in the Snow: Two Masters of Basque Children’s Literature,” among other activities. 

Miami, FL.  The Miami Book Fair program, organized by Miami Dade College, describes the Basque authors, Mariasun Landa and Juan Kruz Igerabide as “Two masters of Basque children’s literature,” a title earned by both with more than 30 children’s titles between the two.  Landa, besides is one of the most translated Basque writers into other languages, along with Bernardo Atxaga.

Landa and Igerabide will at the Miami Book Fair on Saturday and Sunday and will participate in the “Ibero-American Author Program.”  On Saturday, both will be on the panel “From Crocodiles under the Bed and Ink Roads in the Snow: Two Masters of Basque Children’s Literature.”  On Sunday, they will be part of the recital Outcry that will conclude the 32nd edition of the fair, and where international writers will read excerpts of their works.

Also, on Sunday, Mariasun Landa will participate at Entre cuentos y microficciones with writer Jose Lorenzo Fuentes and on the same day, Juan Kruz Igerabide will be part of the Transatlantic Conversations: Digital editions: Challenges for an Author? Roundatable along with Mexican authors Alvaro Enrigue and Valeria Luiselli.
