Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina. The oldest Basque club in Patagonia will celebrate its birthday all week long with cultural and gastronomic activities for the entire community.  On Wednesday, the Euskal Etxea will welcome Basque director, Josu Martinez, who will present his latest documentary “Jainkoak ez dit barkatzen,” (God don't forgive me).  Martinez is coming to Comodoro Rivadavia (see here and here) to participate in the presentation of the CC16 Project Jon Villelabeitia’s Archive as well as to accompany the club in its anniversary celebration.  The film will be shown at the SUM on Wednesday at 7:30pm.

Another Basque visitor, also from Bizkaia, who also contribute to the celebration is musician Gotzon Batikon. The Trikitilari who has been touring Argentina on bike and foot since October, will be teaching pandero and Basque song.  The first of these took place on Friday and two more will be offered, one on Monday and the last one next Thursday.

To conclude the week and the anniversary events, on May 25th the Euskal Etxea will have a dinner to also commemorate the 209th anniversary of the Revolución de Mayo. Dinner will begin at 9:30pm with a menu that includes pintxos, piperade and paella.
