We heard the proud news from the Utah Basque Club: “Our member and friend, Bryan Osoro, climbed Everest.”  It happened last Sunday, local time.  Bryan Osoro, mountaineer and a huge alpinist climbed Everest accompanied by an Ikurriña with a Lauburu and the profile of the state of Utah in his hands, as seen in the photo.  Bryan Osoro is the son of Larry Osoro, veteran member of the Utah Euskal Etxea.  Zorionak to Bryan, Larry and his entire Basque club family!

Donostia-San Sebastian.  “We are safe and completely exhausted at camp ABC.  I still can’t believe that we made it to the summit.”  With these words the Basque-American mountain climber, Bryan Osoro, announced his arrival to the top of Everest.  Osoro made the summit at 4:45 local time, on Sunday to quickly return to the ABC camp, according to Berria newspaper.

The mountain climber, member of the Euskal Etxea de Utah, left on Thursday for the summit and made the distance from the third camp to the summit on Sunday.  It took 15 hours to go back to the third camp.  You can read about it on his website and on Twitter.  He promises to upload more pictures in the coming days, with complete information.
