Nearly 130 people gathered to celebrate the 61 years of the Navarran Club in Bolivar with members and friends.  The celebration included entertainment by the club choir and dancers and it lasted into the early morning hours.  After the festivities, the club is now getting ready for the election of its board of directors, as well as organize its San Fermin event.

Bolivar, Argentina.   With the same joy and energy as always, the Centro Navarro in Bolivar celebrated another anniversary on April 11.  The exact date of the foundation of the entity is January 31, but the celebration is usually postponed a bit so a largest number of members and friends can attend.  At this year’s 61st anniversary the hosts didn’t only provide an excellent menu but also great entertainment provided by the club’s choir and dancers.

During dinner, the club president, Mirta Moriones, addressed those present and invited them to make a toast and share a piece of birthday cake.  The party lasted until 4am with dancing and music provided by a local DJ.

The Future

Along with this news, the Centro Navarro in Bolivar also let us know that they will hold their general assembly in May to elect its board of directors, to get new people involved, and hopefully attract more people.

Meanwhile, also looking towards the future, the club is also remodeling its clubhouse, by adding heating and air-conditioning, as well as expanding it a bit.  This work is made possible thanks to economic help received from the Government of Navarre and annual dues collected.

Additionally, even though San Fermin is still a few months away, its organization has already started.  “The main celebration will be this year in July 11; there will be dinner for guests, among other things, with our traditional homemade chorizo.  We will also celebrate mass and have a kalejira but we still can’t give a definitive program for the event, since we need to wait until the new board is elected,” said the current club president.
