Activities resume and commemoration of Gernika at the Basque club in the Andean Region of the 42nd Parallel

After a period of inactivity, a group supporting the Basque Club in Andean Region of the 42nd Parallel, on the border of Argentine provinces Rio Negro and Chubut, has put together a program of various activities coinciding with the 80th anniversary of the Bombing of Gernika.  The new invitation is for a screening today of the documentary Zerutik sua dator at the Cultural Center in El Bolson.  This same activity will be repeated next week in El Hoyo.  They are also planning Basque classes at the latter. 

El Bolson, Argentina.   With a Basque club that holds occasional activities but that has not lost its fervor to keep on, and who knows, maybe this time it will take.  Having announced new Basque activities in the Andean Region of the 42nd Parallel, with in habitants in both the province of Rio Negro and that of Chubut, in the middle of the Andes, in deep Patagonia.

Maria Elena Morras, in the name of Eusko Sustraiak, the Basque club in the Andean Region of the 42nd Parallel contacted EuskalKultura.com to invite in our pages everyone interested to an event commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Bombing of Gernika, this Friday, April 21st at the Bicentenario Cultural Center in El Bolson (Prov. of Rio Negro).  The documentary Zerutik sua dator by Egoitz Rodriguez Olea will be shown.

A similar event will take place next Thursday, April 27th at the Cultural Center in El Hoyo (Prov. of Chubut).

They also announced that several people in the area have shown interest in learning Basque and so they are taking steps to put together a self-taught group that hopes to enjoy some guidance from Nuria Vilata, a native Basque speaker who lives in the area, at the Foreign Language section of the Cultural Center in El Hoyo.
