Many Basques begin to celebrate Aberri Eguna when they move abroad.  It is a special date on the calendar of many historic Basque clubs that was celebrated last Sunday in places like New York, Caracas, Necochea, London, Miami, Valencia (Venezuela), Madrid or Havana.  But there are many other clubs that will celebrate Aberri Eguna after Holy Week.  Today we include a photo chronicle of festivities at the Eusko Etxea in Caracas.

Caracas, Venezuela.  It is a well-known fact that in the Diaspora Aberri Eguna is often celebrated after Holy Week, instead of on Easter Sunday as it is in the Basque Country.  As every year, EuskalKultura.com will publish news about the most representative celebrations in the coming days.  But today, we wanted to provide a sample of the celebrations that took place last Sunday, specifically those at the Eusko Etxea in Caracas.

In the Venezuelan capital city, a photo chronicle of the events was set by Pedro Javier Arriaga Aguirre, colleague and coordinator of the Jazoera newsletter published by the Venezuelan Basque community.  The Eusko Etxea in Caracas celebrates Aberri Eguna in all earnest.  Aberri Eguna is without a doubt its most heartfelt activity.  Here are some images from Sunday, April 16th with the celebrations at their headquarters in El Paraiso.
