A Summer Course will reflect on the roll of the Basque Diaspora on July 18 and 19 in Donostia

“The (new) roll of the Basque Diaspora in the 21st Century” is the title of the course, organized by the University of the Basque Country under the direction of Imanol Galdos.  Presenters include, among others, John Ysursa (Boise State University), Xabier Zubillaga from Necochea (former director of the Basque-Argentine Institute of Cooperation and Development), Aitor Arruti (Barcelona Euskal Etxea) and representatives of the Basque Government like Marian Elorza and Asier Vallejo.  Complete program to follow. 

Donostia-San Sebastian.   The Diaspora will enjoy special treatment this year at the Summer Courses organized by the University of the Basque Country.  Its sessions will take place on July 18 and 19, as part of the special course organized by Imanol Galdos.  Participants will include Basque international experts as well as various members of the Basque Diaspora.

The goal of the course is to analyze the roll of the Basque Diaspora in Euskal Herria in the 21st Century.  Organizers also stress that their wish for this course is that it be a starting point that marks the beginning of deeper reflection on this topic.
