September 20, 1926 - May 14, 2017

Mary Jane Labrucherie passed away on May 14, 2017 in her home with family by her side.

She was born in 1926 to Jean Pierre and Mary Louise Lafaurie, both from France. She grew up on a dairy farm in Pomona and attended St. Joseph's Catholic School, graduating from Pomona High School in 1945. She then worked for the General Telephone Company until her marriage in 1947 to Raymond Labrucherie who passed away in 1986. They raised four children on a small farm in Ontario.

Mary Jane spent a lifetime of service to others. Her first language was Basque, and she was proud and honored to volunteer as an interpreter for new immigrants from the Basque Country.

She was actively involved in the education and activities of her children, receiving two Honorary Life PTA awards from El Rancho Elementary School and Gird Elementary School. She never missed a school Open House or a ball game that her sons and grandsons played. She volunteered as a Brownie Leader and 4-H Leader, teaching the first all boys cooking class. She also served as a Chino Parks and Recreation Commissioner and was a member of the Southern California Basque Club. She was employed by the Chino Unified School District as an instructional assistant for 35 years. She received special satisfaction teaching students who had difficulty learning and immensely enjoyed helping students get a second chance to earn their high school diplomas through the Chino Adult School.

Mary Jane is lovingly survived by her children Ron (Marie), Mary Louise, and John Labrucherie, Denise (Brett) Bittel; grandchildren Ronnie (Kassi), John Paul (Janine) Labrucherie, Brienne (Josh) Veilleux, Brandon and Brennan Bittel; great-grandchildren Matthew, Jacqueline, Audrey and Marc Paul Labrucherie.

Services will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Ontario: Viewing on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 6:00 p.m., followed by Vigil at 7:00 p.m., and Mass on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 11:30 a.m., followed by interment at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Ontario.
