Her family was from Eibar (Gipuzkoa). She died in Mexico City.

Laura Galarraga was an important part of the Euskal Etxea Basque Club in Mexico City, have been part of its Board and many learned Basque dance with her at the Club.

"An important part of the history of the Basque Club of Mexico and of our own lifes is leaving with her," said Basque-Mexican historian Amaya Garritz.

Laura Galarraga was Jaione Arrieta Galarraga's (founder of the VascosMexico list and association) aunt.

Our comdolences to the family and friends, specially to Jaione.
