Jess Urresti, 92, of Caldwell, ID passed away Friday October 12, 2018.

He was brother to Mary (Urresti) Gaztambide of Salt Lake City, UT, former president of NABO.

Jess passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on October 12th in Caldwell, ID at the age of 92. Jess was born on June 7, 1926 in Elantxobe, Vizcaya Spain to Manuel and Maria Urresti. He came to the United States at seven years old and grew up on Stormy Canyon Ranch north of Wells. He graduated from Wells High School and then served in the United States Army at the end of World War II. After the Army, Jess attended Woodbury College in Southern, CA.

He returned to Wells, NV where he met the love of his life Donna Sallee. They were married on January 23, 1954. Jess was a business owner in Wells for 20 plus years. After raising their three children, they relocated to Coeur d’Alene, ID. where Jess was in management at Kootenai Electric. After retiring in 1988, they became snowbirds traveling to Yuma, AZ during the winter months.

Jess enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, boating, and Basque festivals. He was also actively involved in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s lives.
Jess is survived by his wife of 64 years, Donna Urresti, Caldwell ID, sister, Mary Gaztambide, Murray, UT; daughter, Cindy Urresti, Elko NV; 2 sons, Rick (Char) Urresti, Caldwell, ID, and Jim (Debi) Urresti, Elko NV and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Maria Urresti; sister, Josephine Cassingham, and granddaughter, Tiffany Urresti.

All are welcome to attend a reception honoring Jess Urresti on Sunday, October 28th, 2:00 pm at the Basque Club House, 1601 Flagview Drive. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Tiffany Urresti Legacy Scholarship in memory of Jess Urresti — Elko High School, or the Elko Basque Club, PO Box 1321 Elko, NV 89803.
