Fermin Huarte age 73 of Gardnerville NV, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Friday June 22, 2018. He was born in Ardaiz, Spain on February 9, 1945.

Fermin came to the United States in 1963, to work along the side of his brother Emilio at Talbott Sheep Company in Los Banos, CA. In 1970 he began working for Francisco Berrueta in the San Francisco Bay area. He married his lifetime partner, Marciana Huarte in 1972. In 1973 he started his own gardening business, and lived in Redwood City CA, until he retired to Gardnerville NV, in 2011.

Fermin enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing Mus, spending time with his friends, family and watching his garden grow. He loved driving to Los Banos on a Sunday, and having a few Picon’s with friends, and lunch with his nieces and nephews at his favorite restaurant Wool Growers. He was a member of the Los Banos Basque club since 1970.

Fermin is survived by his wife Marciana Huarte, his son Stefan Huarte, brothers Jesus Huarte and Florencio Zubiri Lusarreta, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Eugeulio Huarte Zubiri and Felicia Lusarreta Torrea, brothers Emilio, Demetrio, Esteban, and sister Marisol.
